A little creativity for everyday moments

Pokemon Coloring Activities for a GO Buddy Field Journal

Build a Pokemon GO buddy journal with printable route scenes, color notes, a PokéStop stop, and an Origin Forme Palkia finale.

A buddy journey gives children a simple story: where did the traveler go, and what did they notice? These Pokemon coloring activities turn familiar Pokémon GO elements into a paper field journal. Begin with the Pokémon GO coloring pages: choose the Bulbasaur supply stop, a route or landmark scene, and the Origin Forme Palkia finale. Gather pencils before anyone starts. The route can be imagined indoors without a phone.

The AI-generated color illustrations show possible activity setups; their pictured characters are not a preview of every downloadable sheet. The ten-page collection contains printable line art. This original fan activity is not a Pokémon GO event.

A route line and three observation cards make one buddy picture feel like the start of a journey.

Draw a short route for a buddy

Print the Bulbasaur-and-trainer supply-stop sheet or the buddy-route handbook at full size. On a separate sheet, draw a wide line with three stops: start, a place to notice something, and finish. Add a simple park gate, pond, or bench if you want, but leave plenty of white space for children to add their own discoveries. The route sheet is an activity prop, not a map of an actual Pokémon GO location.

At the first stop, color Bulbasaur at the supply station or mark the first place in the route handbook. Instead of asking for a “correct” palette, invite the child to choose a color for today's weather. A yellow sky, blue grass, or striped path can express the story while leaving Bulbasaur's broad, rounded silhouette easy to recognize.

Next, choose the PokéStop plaza or the empty hilltop Gym page. Use a small paper arrow to point from the route to that page. Ask, “What would you notice here?” The spotted Egg incubator, Berry supply stand, or Raid Egg above the Gym can give the child another detail to add. Write one observation on a blank card. The child can dictate it.

At the last stop, color the lakeside buddy camp or the Adventure Gift and postcard page. Make a small envelope and put the three observation cards inside. That is the field journal's pocket. Tape the envelope to the route back for easy display.

Share the route, pages, and supplies

If several children are coloring together, make one person the route designer, another the page chooser, and another the supply helper. Rotate those jobs after a few minutes. Nobody needs to be the “best” artist. Place crayons at one end of the table and colored pencils at the other so a child working on Origin Forme Palkia's smaller shapes can reach a finer point without taking it from someone else.

The PokéStop plaza, Berry stand, and route handbook suit the start of the session. Save the more detailed Origin Forme Palkia page for a child who wants a longer project. For a slower round of Pokemon coloring activities, compare Bulbasaur's rounded outline with Origin Forme Palkia's long lines and angular armor. The journal can place their two sheets side by side without treating either picture as a promised in-game encounter.

For an easy sorting game, place three finished sheets face down. Turn them over one at a time and sort them into “walking buddy,” “rest stop,” or “big adventure.” A picture can fit two categories. The useful part is hearing why a child made the choice. This sorting round starts a conversation without adding more screens or supplies.

Route pockets keep completed scenes in a chosen order and give everyone a reason to explain the sequence.

End the journal with a Palkia scene

A finale does not require an attack pose. Put the Origin Forme Palkia sheet at the end of the route and ask the child to color the space around it as a wide sky, a quiet shore, or a simple arena. The coloring task is to notice its silhouette: long lines, armor plates, and open areas that need different tools.

Before printing several copies, test one sheet at A4 or US Letter. Check Origin Forme Palkia's smallest enclosed spaces and make sure the printer has not cropped the edges. If the lines look crowded, print a simpler route or landmark sheet and reserve the detailed character page for another day. Fold the route and place finished pages behind it in a folder; there is no need to cut around the characters.

Pokemon coloring activities can end with a two-minute sharing circle. Each child shows one color choice or one journal observation. A child who prefers not to speak can point to a favorite part. The field journal is finished when its owner decides to close it, whether it contains one page or several.

The final display shows the route, the child's notes, and a distinct Palkia silhouette rather than a staged fight.

Practical questions

Should everyone color the same Pokémon?

No. The downloadable set has Bulbasaur and Origin Forme Palkia character sheets alongside PokéStop, Gym, route, gift, and camp scenes. One child can choose a character while another colors a place or an object. Keep the route structure the same, then let each journal reflect its maker's choices. Nobody has to finish at the same pace.

Can I add a custom scene?

The AI coloring page tool lets you describe a new subject. Sign-in and credits are required for AI creation; check the displayed cost before generating. Review the line art for character shape, stray lettering, and tiny closed areas before handing out copies. A Pokemon activity sheet with one familiar Pokémon in a simple location is easier to inspect than a crowded group scene.

What else fits a short craft session?

The community can provide page ideas. If the group likes collecting details, try MapleStory coloring activities; if they prefer paths and shapes, see Geometry Dash coloring activities. Those guides use different paper structures, so the journal does not need to become a whole afternoon project.
